Andy Dovell is a leading Australian designer with twenty five years working as a practicing yacht designer / naval architect including nineteen years working with the successful design team of Murray Burns Dovell. He has been involved in four challenges for the America’s Cup, three as principal designer. Andy designed the overall winner of the Rolex Sydney Hobart races in 1994, 1995 and 2001. His designs have also won the Transpac Race, Cowes Race Week, The Kings Cup, The Chicago to Macknac race, and the Sydney Gold Coast and Brisbane Gladstone races, amongst others.

| Sailing Experience: |
Andy grew up racing Thistles and Lasers on Long Island Sound and more recently has sailed aboard Sydney 38s contesting Pittwater Coffs Harbour races, Sydney Gold Coast races and the Rolex Sydney Hobart. He has also spent plenty of time wave sailing on sailboards. |
