Sean Langman is the managing director of Noakes Boat & Shipyards and Wot Rocket is his brainchild. He conceived the design in 2004 and commissioned it to be built at his boat yard. |
| Professional Life: |
Sean has an eye for modifying boats to achieve optimum speed as well as restoring ocean racing classics such as the 1932 built Maluka, and with his facilities, he has the means to design and develop adrenalin pumping projects such as Wot Rocket.
As well as managing the expanding Noakes Boat and Shipyards, Sean heads up the rigging section of the business and drives the cranes and travel lifts. |
| Sailing Experience: |
Sean Langman, who finished third twice in the 18 footer world championships, is a veteran of sixteen Rolex Sydney Hobart races and in recent years he raced the fastest ‘off the wind’ big boat in the southern hemisphere, Grundig/AAPT, the 66 footer which placed second over the line in the 2004 Rolex Sydney Hobart. |
| Sailing Highlights: |
He sailed in his first Sydney Hobart at 18 with Kanga Birtles, yacht builder and round-the-world solo sailor. Sean has sailed Olympic Star class yachts, raced 49ers in the Olympic trials in 1992 and in 1998 he won Bronze in the 49er world championship in France. |
